Data controller and policy scope

This is the official privacy policy for QuietBeam: Flashlight & Torch (com.blacksunset.quietbeam). The app publisher and controller for Blacksunset-managed processing described here is Blacksunset OÜ (Estonian registry code 16513658), trading as Blacksunset Studio.

The app-specific sections below explain the device data and features the app accesses, the purposes of processing, external service providers, and retention and deletion practices.

When the app connects to external services named below, data is protected in transit with HTTPS or TLS. Data stored on the device can be managed and deleted using the options described below.

The app does not offer account creation, so an account-deletion request flow does not apply.

If you email support, Blacksunset OÜ processes your email address and message content to answer the request and resolve the issue. Support correspondence is kept only as long as necessary for support and applicable legal obligations.

Purpose and safety

QuietBeam is an Android flashlight utility with LED and screen-light controls, timers, signal modes, a Quick Settings tile, and a home-screen widget.

QuietBeam is not a certified emergency or life-saving device. Strobe and SOS modes must be used responsibly; rapidly flashing light can affect photosensitive users.

Information stored locally

QuietBeam stores haptic and launch preferences, signal-warning acknowledgement, an ad-eligibility use counter, and a cached indication of the Google Play ad-removal entitlement on the device.

The app does not create an account, require login, use Blacksunset Studio cloud sync, or include custom analytics. Local app data remains until it is cleared or the app is uninstalled, subject to Android backup behavior.

Flashlight and device access

QuietBeam controls the LED through Android CameraManager without opening the camera and without requesting camera permission.

The app does not request location, microphone, contacts, photos, files, or storage access. Vibration is used only for optional haptic feedback.

Advertising and consent

The free version can show a Google AdMob banner after the first three eligible uses. Ads are kept away from the main light control.

QuietBeam uses Google's User Messaging Platform to update consent information each app session, show a consent form where required, and provide Privacy Choices in settings when required.

Data processed by Google services

Google Mobile Ads and UMP may process IP-derived approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, diagnostics, performance data, consent choices, and fraud or security signals for advertising, analytics, consent management, security, and fraud prevention.

Google Play processes purchase, payment, install, licensing, and store-related information under Google's own terms. Blacksunset Studio does not receive payment-card details.

One-time ad-removal purchase

The non-consumable Google Play product Remove ads forever removes QuietBeam ads for the purchasing Google Play account.

QuietBeam queries Google Play purchase status to grant, acknowledge, and restore the entitlement and stores a local cached entitlement indicator so paid users are not shown an ad while Play ownership is being refreshed.

Sharing, retention, and security

Blacksunset Studio does not sell personal information. Advertising, consent, billing, security, and service-operation data can be processed by Google and its partners according to consent, region, Android settings, and Google's configuration.

Local data follows the retention described above. Google retains information under its own policies. Network traffic uses encrypted transport provided by Android and Google SDKs, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

Data deletion requests

To delete data stored only on your device, clear QuietBeam's app data in Android settings or uninstall the app.

To request deletion of any QuietBeam data controlled by Blacksunset Studio, email info@blacksunset.ee with the subject QuietBeam data deletion. QuietBeam has no account or developer cloud, so Blacksunset Studio normally holds no app-specific user record. Google-controlled advertising, consent, billing, and store data follows Google's privacy controls and retention policies.

Your choices, children, and contact

You can reopen advertising privacy choices when the option is required, buy or restore the ad-removal product, clear local app data, reset Android advertising settings, or uninstall QuietBeam.

QuietBeam is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly create child profiles or accounts.
