Data controller and policy scope

This is the official privacy policy for ClearTape: Calculator History (com.blacksunset.cleartape). The app publisher and controller for Blacksunset-managed processing described here is Blacksunset OÜ (Estonian registry code 16513658), trading as Blacksunset Studio.

The app-specific sections below explain the device data and features the app accesses, the purposes of processing, external service providers, and retention and deletion practices.

When the app connects to external services named below, data is protected in transit with HTTPS or TLS. Data stored on the device can be managed and deleted using the options described below.

The app does not offer account creation, so an account-deletion request flow does not apply.

If you email support, Blacksunset OÜ processes your email address and message content to answer the request and resolve the issue. Support correspondence is kept only as long as necessary for support and applicable legal obligations.

Purpose of the app

ClearTape is an Android calculator with basic and scientific calculations, live results, editable calculation tapes, local history, everyday math tools, and user-initiated exports.

ClearTape is a general-purpose calculation aid. Verify important financial, tax, legal, academic, or safety-critical results independently.

Information stored locally

ClearTape stores the current expression, calculation history, notes, named tapes, tape lines, theme and angle-mode settings, session count, and a cached Pro entitlement indicator in app-local storage.

The app does not create an account, require login, upload calculation content to Blacksunset Studio, or include custom analytics. Calculation expressions and results are not sent to advertising analytics.

Android backup and device-transfer features may back up eligible app-local database and preference data to the backup service connected to your Android device. This is controlled by Android, your device settings, and the backup provider's terms.

Exports and sharing

You can share a tape as text. ClearTape Pro can also create CSV and PDF files in the app cache and send them to an app or destination you choose through the Android share sheet.

After you choose another app, cloud service, email service, or file destination, that service processes the shared content under its own privacy terms. ClearTape does not upload exports automatically.

Permissions and device access

ClearTape uses internet and network-state access for Google advertising, consent, and Google Play billing. Google Mobile Ads can use the Android advertising identifier when available and permitted.

ClearTape does not request precise or approximate device location, camera, microphone, contacts, phone, SMS, call log, photos, files, broad storage, health, or biometric permissions.

Advertising and consent

The free version can show a Google AdMob banner from the fourth app session on selected secondary screens such as Tools or History. No ad is placed on the calculator keypad or between a key press and its result.

ClearTape uses Google's User Messaging Platform to update consent information, show a consent form where required, and provide Privacy Choices when required by Google or regional rules. If consent or the network is unavailable, calculation remains usable and the ad is omitted.

Data processed by Google services

Google Mobile Ads and UMP may process IP-derived approximate location, device or advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, diagnostics, performance data, consent choices, and fraud or security signals for advertising, analytics, consent management, security, compliance, and fraud prevention.

Google Play processes purchase, payment, install, licensing, and store-related information under Google's own terms. Blacksunset Studio does not receive payment-card details.

One-time Pro purchase

The non-consumable Google Play product ClearTape Pro removes ads and unlocks unlimited named tapes, CSV and PDF exports, and Pro features for the purchasing Google Play account.

ClearTape queries Google Play purchase status to grant, acknowledge, and restore the entitlement and stores a local cached indicator so owned features remain available while Play ownership is refreshed.

Data deletion requests

To delete locally stored ClearTape data, clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. Files you exported or shared must be deleted from their destination separately.

To request deletion of any ClearTape data controlled by Blacksunset Studio, email info@blacksunset.ee with the subject ClearTape data deletion. ClearTape has no developer account system or cloud database, so Blacksunset Studio normally holds no app-specific calculation record. Google-controlled advertising, consent, billing, backup, and store data follows Google's controls and retention policies.

Children, security, and contact

ClearTape is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly create child profiles or accounts.

Network traffic uses encrypted transport supplied by Android and Google SDKs. No system can guarantee absolute security.
